Research Experience
Lecturer in Geospatial Engineering
School of Engineering, Newcastle University, 2021-Present
- I’m a member of the Geodesy research group at Geospatial Engineering, where I conduct research in the field of crustal motion geodesy. Specifically, I am focused on exploring how the solid Earth reacts to surface mass loading.
Research Associate
School of Engineering, Newcastle University, 2018-2021
- I worked in the UKANET project led by Pippa Whitehouse (Durham University). I used GNSS time series to help infer the rheological properties of the Earth beneath Antarctica.
Postdoctoral Fellow
The Australian National University, Research School of Earth Sciences, 2012-2018
- I utilised high-precision GNSS observations to better understand active deformation in plate boundaries. Specifically, I employed the block modelling approach to accurately describe how the relative motion between the Pacific and Australian Plates is distributed.
Fulbright Scholar
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Science, 2009-2011
- I collaborated with Dr. Robert Reilinger and Bob King in conducting an in-depth investigation into crustal deformation in the western Mediterranean region. Throughout my research, I focused on utilizing GNSS to detect various tectonic processes and gain insights into the complex interplay between geological forces and the resulting deformation of Earth’s crust.
Doctorate in Applied Sciences
Mohammed V University, Mohammadia School of Engineers, 2007-2012
- During my research, I explored the potential applications of ground-based GPS observations in two distinct areas: studying atmospheric humidity and investigating crustal deformation across the West Mediterranean region.
