Research Experience

2021-Present
Lecturer in Geospatial Engineering; Newcastle University

I’m a member of the Geodesy research group at Geospatial Engineering, where I conduct research in the field of crustal motion geodesy. Specifically, I am focused on exploring how the solid Earth reacts to surface mass loading.

2018-2021
Research Associate; Newcastle University School of Engineering

I was involved in the UKANET project led by Pippa Whitehouse (Durham University). I used GNSS time series to help infer the rheological properties of the Earth beneath Antarctica.

2012-2018
Postdoctoral Fellow; The Australian National University Research School of Earth Sciences

I utilized high-precision GNSS observations to better understand active deformation in plate boundaries. Specifically, I employed the block modelling approach to accurately describe how the relative motion between the Pacific and Australian Plates is distributed.

2009-2011
Fulbright Scholar; Massachusetts Institute of Technology Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Science

I collaborated with Dr. Robert Reilinger and Bob King in conducting an in-depth investigation into crustal deformation in the western Mediterranean region. Throughout my research, I focused on utilizing GNSS to detect various tectonic processes and gain insights into the complex interplay between geological forces and the resulting deformation of Earth’s crust.

2007-2012
Doctorate in Applied Sciences; Mohammed V University Mohammadia School of Engineers

During my research, I explored the potential applications of ground-based GPS observations in two distinct areas: studying atmospheric humidity and investigating crustal deformation across the West Mediterranean region.
